Gneeveguilla Community Walk

Well that’s a wrap for 2026. We are delighted with the support annually and thank you to make this a wonderful community event. Many thanks to Gneeveguilla Gaa for allowing us use the facilities and the wonderful ladies commitee to support with serving refreshments Martina, Noreen, Trish, Betty, Gobnait and Ann. Thank you to Marteen from Paddy O’keeffee, Gattabawn for suppling tea, coffee, milk, mi wadi, butter and jam, it was a very much appreciated after the walk and thank you to Dalys supervalue for the baking which adds to the morning. The walk raised €1205.00 and together with a generous donation from Sean and Aine Hickey of Sean Hickey Construction ltd of €1000.00, the grand total is €2205.00 for Pieta house. We will await a date from Pieta house for them to collect the donation and post the presentation on fb when completed. We hope everyone enjoyed the event and look forward to 2027.

Looking forward to this Saturday 9th May 2026, in Gneeveguilla gaa for our annual darkness to light. No sign up. Come as you are and all are advised to wear visible clothing and bring torches or light. Helpers welcome and pm for any queries. Donations on the day to our volunteers will be welcome. Thank you for all the support to the community sharing the posts and please continue to do so for this worthy event.

Thank you to everyone who shared and supported our community walk 2025. Presentation made to Pieta house today.

2025 we were undecided to go ahead due to a busy day in the village but we were blown away with the support and donations raised.

Final total raised from the community walk 2025 stands at €3,222.00. Thank you to everyone who supported and donated to this worthy cause. Thank you to Sean and Aine Hickey of Sean Hickey Construction who generously donated an amazing €2,000.00. Thank you for all the helpers and the amazing team of coordinators to help run the event.

Walk done but the very generous donations are still coming in.

Donation buckets are placed behind the bar in the Club bar for the next few days and we will announce the total following that.
