Chester and Charlie are enjoying each others company and play away all day. When they are ready for homes they will be posted on the WAW instagram and Facebook Adoption pages. Fill out the application form on the website and contact the rehomers. It will be a few weeks before they are ready. We at the rescue have no input into the rehoming of the dogs here we are too busy rescuing them and getting them home ready.

The six whippet x puppies from Carlow/kilkenny dog shelter are doing well. Plenty of worms expelled and fleas treated too. Plenty of Butternut Box for them to build up their strength 💪thanks to our friends at BNB who keep us well stocked 🙏when they are ready for homes they will be posted on our instagram and pages. Keep an eye on there and fill out the application form on the website 🙏

Another day another unwanted puppy, don’t be born male!! If you can’t ’produce’ you’re not wanted. I think I’ll name him Charlie. He can join Chester here💜💜when he has received several worm treatments, started last night, two vaccinations and is chipped, he will be looking for a forever home. We are so lucky to have such wonderful supporters. Not for the first time or the second time have Laura and Clodagh collected and delivered a huge van load of donations for the animals here. Food, treats, bedding, blankets, play houses, just about everything. It takes a lot of hard work to collect and deliver all this but we are very grateful for their hard work and to all those who contributed 🙏💜🙏Pip was overseeing the work.

"I was fuming to learn that the greyhound racing industry has received over €20m in funding for the first time since the Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund was established in 2001.

Greyhound racing is an industry that is rife with animal welfare issues. I believe this Government is an utter disgrace for bankrolling this barbaric cruelty. This country should follow the example set by Scotland and Wales in consigning this savagery to the past.

When one juxtaposes the largesse dispensed to the greyhound industry with the derisory weekly rise of €10 that this Government insulted our pensioners with in Tuesday’s budget, one can only conclude where the priorities of this administration lie.
