In addition to direct assistance, we try to promote self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves. Our ethos is "a hand up,

not a hand out". Any assistance offered by the Society is given in a non-judgemental spirit of compassion, based on the need of the individual or family. SPV volunteers provide practical help and support to people who are struggling to manage for whatever reason through our local conference. All contact with us is in the strictest confidence.
