Dear Customers, Friends and Our Local Community,

We would like to take a moment to address some concerns and rumours circulating about nail salons, as we have recently received both supportive and upsetting messages.

As a hardworking family business that has proudly served the Portlaoise community for over 11 years, we feel it is important to reassure our customers and stand up for our dedicated staff.

We fully support the work of An Garda Sรญochรกna in tackling human trafficking and protecting vulnerable people. These are serious issues that deserve proper investigation and public awareness.

However, we also believe that innocent, hardworking businesses and employees should never be unfairly judged or associated with criminal activity without evidence.

๐–๐‡๐˜ ๐ƒ๐Ž ๐Ž๐”๐‘ ๐’๐“๐€๐…๐… ๐–๐„๐€๐‘ ๐…๐€๐‚๐„ ๐Œ๐€๐’๐Š๐’?

We would also like to clarify something important about health and safety in nail salons.

Our staff wear protective masks to help reduce their exposure to fine dust produced during acrylic and gel nail filing and other airborne substances encountered during treatments.

We take the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers very seriously. That is why we have invested in a high-standard professional ventilation system and maintain strict hygiene and workplace safety practices.

Wearing a face mask is a health and safety precaution. It should NEVER, on its own, be seen as evidence of exploitation or wrongdoing.

Our staff are hardworking professionals who deserve the same dignity and respect as anyone else.

We are proud to be a valued member of Downtown Portlaoise and part of the local business community.

Behind our salon is a family who has worked incredibly hard to build a business, create employment and contribute positively to our town.

We value the relationships we have built with our customers, neighbouring businesses and the wider community. Portlaoise is more than just where we work โ€” it is a community we are proud to be part of.

If you agree that nail technicians should be able to wear protective masks without being judged, please help us raise awareness.

We are not asking anyone to attack or insult others. We simply want fairness, accurate information and an opportunity for our voices to be heard.

To everyone who has supported us, sent kind messages or trusted us with their beauty treatments over the years,

We will continue doing what we love: looking after our customers and providing a safe, professional and welcoming salon.
