OUR RD FOR TODAY was TOM RUSSELL and here’s what he had to say ,
51 runners and walkers & 11 volunteers assembled for parkrun #401. After the mini-heatwave during the week we probably needed the drop of rain and it didn’t disappoint! Well done to everybody who braved the elements. A group from lough key forest park made the trip to Oranmore while their home parkrun was in use for the night and day festival. We also welcomed Mary Blake , the event director from Perigo parkrun in Seattle. What had visitor from such different locations in common (besides being used to rain)? Ticking ‘O’ off the list in their quest to run the Parkrun alphabet.
There were 5 PB’s including 1st female over the finishing mat Lydia Igoe. 1st male home was Jack Cormican added a parkrun win to many junior parkruns he won down through the years. Junior parkrun takes place every Sunday at 9 30. Please consider checking it out.
