OLDCASTLE AREA MEN’S SHED are out and about again on another day trip!
Our trips have been possible through grants received from HSE / National Lottery funding. We are most grateful for this funding as it enables us to provide travel and social opportunities for our group!

Oldcastle Area Men’s Shed decided to approach Croke Park from a different angle yesterday and the results were welcomed and enjoyed. Many of our members had been to Croke Park on more than one occasion but on a mission to support their team who was of course going to win. Some of our members (at least one) had never been to Croke Park before. The highlight of the visit was the Skyline tour and our guide Philip was a wealth of knowledge about all the wonderful sights we could see from “above” the stadium. All of our members thoroughly enjoyed the Skyline tour and the museum afterwards. After Croke Park we happily headed off for a delicious meal at the carvery in The Halfway House. A thoroughly great day was had by all.

The Oldcastle Area Men’s Shed have been out and about this week!
Some members travelled over to Ballinamore in Leitrim to visit the Glenview Folk Museum.
This was a trip back down memory lane! Brian Kennedy has collated a fantastic collection of memorabilia from old household and farm items. The museum also contains an impressive street scene reconstructed to reflect 1930’s Ireland.
This was followed by a visit to Ballinamore Men’s Shed to meet other shedders, pick up some ideas for ourselves and of course have a cuppa!
All of this was enabled through a grant our Shed has received from HSE National Lottery funding, which helps us grow and develop our shed.
Oldcastle Area Men’s Shed …. we meet up on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm.
New members are always welcome 🤗!!Remember our kettle is always on!!!

Hi there Men’s Sheds.
First post here!!!
We’re a newly formed Men’s Shed and are in a newly designated CLAR area and a targeted group eligible for grant funding.
Does any other shed have experience of qualifying and receiving funding through CLAR?
It’s not a straightforward a process but would love to hear from other sheds’ experiences!
