🌼 Event Reminder: New to You Newmarket - A Boutique Style Pre Loved Fashion Fair 🌼

Saturday, February 28th • 12pm–5pm • An Cultúrlann, Newmarket

Our community’s first pre loved fashion fair is almost here - and with all 21 stalls fully booked, we’re gearing up for a vibrant, feel good shopping day packed with style, creativity and brilliant finds.
This is a shopping event only. We won’t be accepting clothes donations on the day, so bring your tote bags and get ready to browse rails that are already curated, styled, and ready to go.

Visitors can look forward to a boutique style mix of:
• High quality pre loved fashion
• Vintage gems and unique one off pieces
• Jewellery, shoes, bags, and accessories
• Children’s clothes
• Beautifully curated rails from individuals, families, community groups, and two fantastic local charity shops - SVP - Vincent's Newmarket and Sr. Concilio Charity Shop

Fresh barista style coffee and treats from InstaCoffee will add to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

🌱 Why Pre Loved Matters
Many people have heard the term fast fashion, but not everyone knows what it means. Fast fashion refers to clothing produced very quickly, in huge quantities, and at very low cost. It keeps shops stocked with constantly changing trends - but it also creates a lot of hidden waste.

A few things people often don’t realise:
• Clothes made for fast fashion are usually designed to be worn only a handful of times
• Ireland discards around 110,000 tonnes of textiles every year, and almost all of it ends up in landfill or incineration (EPA).
• Producing new clothes uses huge amounts of water, energy, and chemicals
• Items often travel across multiple countries before reaching a shop

But the good news is that small choices genuinely make a difference!

Choosing pre loved:
• Keeps great clothes in circulation
• Reduces waste and demand for new production
• Saves resources
• Supports a more thoughtful, community based approach to fashion

And when you do want something new, supporting local boutiques is a brilliant alternative. They focus on quality, longevity, and personal service - the opposite of the disposable, high volume model that drives fast fashion.

New to You Newmarket celebrates all of this: community, creativity, sustainability, and the joy of finding something unique.
All proceeds from stall bookings support local community initiatives, including the development of a new community garden at Coolagh Bridge.

We can’t wait to welcome you for a brilliant day of fashion, community, and feel good shopping.
