Our smiles are bigger than the spuds but the joy of unearthing our bag grown pototoes was priceless. We got some advice from the seasoned New Ross Community Allotments holders, the Murrays who also dug up theirs today. As for the baked treats from Eileen and Peg, worth getting up for any day. Plenty of learning done too with us taking soft cuttings to plant up for evermore! Thanks to Louise WWETB Adult & Community Education for all, one week of Wednesdays left with our Green Fingers Group. Lovely to meet Doireann and Enid Woolmington from Wexford Local Development onsite again. Massive shout to Sue Wynne for crafting a new coffee table for us and Melania for painting it under the suns rays.

The begining 2024, the in-between 2025 and the now 2026! A wonderful night together to celebrate finishing our space. From a blank stoney field to a floral, fruit & veg haven. Massive kudos to our Wednesday Green Fingers Group under WWETB Adult & Community Education for their effort since September creating a beautiful patch for our members & every holder New Ross Community Allotments to take a breath & relax in. Thanks Jennifer O'Brien Horvath Martin Spider O'Brien's for a fab and Enid Wexford Local Development for the support. Shout out to Darren Byrne & Ben Dolan for the music. We made great use of our Reusable Party Pack from Wexford County Council and all's left now is the washing up & the summer ahead to enjoy beautiful blooms, food produce and weeding😂

We are delighted to have been successful in our application to Wexford County Council's Local Waste Prevention/Local Circular Economy Grant
We were allocated €900 for our project plans which include upcoming classes on repairing punctures and how to build/install a compost bin, along with the purchase of materials for same and a community tool box for our hut in New Ross Community Allotments .
We will also take ownership of a reuseable party pack. The aim of our initiatives is to gather together to support waste prevention, encourage reuse within our communities and reduce single-use items at our local events. Hosting a pack means storing it our' blue hut ' to making it available for others in our area to borrow and for New Ross Tidy Towns meet ups.
