A planning notice for an extension to the existing Ardmore Hills estate was lodged with Westmeath County Council just before Christmas.
The public has until January 28th to make submissions on the proposed 65 house development, which is the first of three new phases which will see over 200 new houses built on lands to the rear of the existing estate and on the former farm.
Unusually, despite there being two existing roads into the farm, vehicles to the new high density development will all come through the existing estate and onto the already very busy Ardmore Road.
The masterplan for the estate is in the picture below. You can make submissions for, or against, or even just observations on how it might affect you or your family, via the County Council website (www.westmeathcoco.ie) or in person at County Buildings.
The planning files detail that the first phase of the new development is for 65 no. residential units at Ardmore Hills, on a site of circa. 2.24 Has. The proposed development will comprise the construction of 3 no. 2-bedroom semi-detached & mid-terrace houses; 32 no. 3-bedroom semi-detached & mid-terrace houses; 27 no. 4-bedroom semi-detached houses; 3 no. 5-bedroom detached houses. The development provides for 123 no. car parking spaces, provision of communal open spaces, all associated hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths, and all other ancillary works above and below ground.
