Our good friends at SCCUL Sanctuary are holding their annual Choir Factor event at 7.15PM tonight at Saint Nicholas' Collegiate Church, Galway. We at MMS have very fond memories of performing at this and have no doubt that this will be a huge success.

Our chairman is singing with High Fidelity, though we're not remotely biased...Good luck to all the choirs! 😜 (The event can be streamed as well for those who cannot get there. More details on this at SCCUL Sanctuary)

Well, tonight is the night our friends in Opacas take to the stage for the launch of their second album (recorded in THAT Abbey Road) at the wonderful Pádraicín's, by the sea in Furbo. Well worth stopping by if you love multi-harmony pop songs, dripping in sunshine. Have an absolute ball, lads.

Lorna Salmon was one of our guests at our MMS Eurovision Show on Friday evening last. She performed a wonderful version of Loreen's 'Tattoo', the Swedish winner from 2023.

Lorna is a full time choral director with a number of choirs, some of which will be performing in the Bailey Allen Hall in University of Galway on 07 March 2026.

It looks like it will be a really great concert for people who love choral music. Go, Lorna!

Happy New Year, everyone. We're back in training this week for our EUROVISION show on Friday 27 February 2026 in the wonderful Town Hall Theatre Galway.

If you want to avoid meeting your Waterloo, it's easy to make your mind up and buy tickets at the link below. Trust me, the show will be better than these jokes. Also, there will be no turkeys. Of any kind.

Hey, everyone. Looking forward to this on Monday, 15 December 2025, between 7PM and 8PM. If you're around and want to get even more into the Christmas spirit, it's a lovely hour with four choirs doing their thing.

We have a surprise new song in our repertoire this year, along with Chris Tomlin's Noel, which we have done for the last few years.

Sadly, we said goodbye to a longtime member of our MMS family last week, Fearghal Morgan (pictured here on the night of our 2024 MMS Soul Sisters show).

He was a gifted musician, classically trained, playing violin in orchestras in his younger life before embracing his love of all things traditional. Oh, and he was a beautiful bass singer to boot, adding confidence and stability to tricky arrangements over the years. You always knew you didn't have to worry about Fearghal learning his homework or producing on the big night.

Our hearts go out to his wife and MMS Alto, Fionnuala, and all of her and Fearghal's family. MMS certainly will never be the same without him - not just his wonderful singing and playing music, but his fantastic personality: he was always ready to have the craic, always greeting everyone with a great big smile. He was a perfect Fear an Tí for our after-show singsongs - he always made sure that everyone was included, and it was impossible to say no to him. And his own contributions were legendary, even his rendition of...ahem...Chicken on a Raft! 🎶

Fearghal received a fantastic sendoff with a beautiful service last Thursday, which he himself would have loved - so many relatives and friends included in so many ways, so typical of the man himself.

So, rest easy, Fearghal. We will miss you.

Well, this is fantastic. Our friend. and guest who has graciously sang as a guest at so many of our shows, Aimee Banks, has a headline show on 16 December 2025 in the Town Hall Theatre Galway.

This young Moycullen artiste, with such a beautiful soprano voice, will absolutely beguile the audience with her wonderful show for Christmas (sorry for mentioning the C word before December).

Knock 'em dead, Aimee Banks!

Our friends, Opacas, are doing a very special gig tomorrow night. As well as celebrating their fifth anniversary, they will be playing songs for their upcoming Difficult Second Album. Well, well worth going to if you share a love for original music and Galway artists.

Here's a memory of the time the band guested at our MMS Back In Business concert in Saint Nicholas' Collegiate Church, Galway. We had the honour of providing choir services on Opacas track 'Shine On'. Rock on, guys. Have a ball tomorrow night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIy1q7Cnjp4

How about celebrating our fifth birthday with us? Tickets (€10 excl booking fee) are on the Monroes website!

Hey, everyone. We’ll be starting back with rehearsals this month for the 2025/26 season. The specific date for our return (along with a few other details) will be posted here later this week. This is just an early warning!
