🌿 National Heritage Week comes to Monkstown! 🏰🌳

Join us from 15th–23rd August as we celebrate the rich history, heritage and natural beauty of our village with three fantastic FREE community events.

🏰 Monkstown Castle Tour
Led by Séamus Cannon

📅 Wednesday 19th August (7–8.30pm)
🪧 Commemorative Plaques in Monkstown
Followed by the Monkstown Heritage Virtual Walking Tour launch

📅 Sunday 23rd August (3–4.15pm)
🌳 Monkstown Village Tree Trail Walk
Led by Charles Shier

Whether you’re a long-time local or visiting Monkstown for the first time, these events are a wonderful opportunity to discover the stories, people and places that make our village so special. These are free events co-funded by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co. Council.

A huge thank you to Clean Coasts for visiting Monkstown and helping to protect our beautiful shoreline. 🌊💙

Your litter picking has made a real difference for our community and our marine life. Thank you to everyone who gave their time to keep our coast clean! ♻️

🌿 The Wednesday Weeders have done it again! 🌿

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for removing weeds around Monkstown this week- especially in the scorching heat! ☀️💚 Your hard work is helping keep Monkstown looking its best.

We’re always looking for more volunteers to join us every Wednesday. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to have you!

🌿 A big thank you to our brilliant Wednesday Weeders for clearing the weeds along Longford Terrace! What a difference a couple of hours can make- the whole area looks so much tidier, brighter and more welcoming. Every bit of effort helps make our neighbourhood a place we’re all proud of 💚

Fancy getting involved? 🌱 We meet every Wednesday at 7:30pm and we’d love to welcome some new volunteers. Whether you can spare 30 minutes or the whole session, every pair of hands makes a difference.

A huge thank you to Mona McCrea for an amazing Sunday exploring the seashore at Seapoint! 🌊🐚

Her knowledge and passion for our marine flora and fauna made it such a fun and fascinating experience for everyone. It was a wonderful day out for families, discovering the incredible wildlife on our doorstep.
