Well done to Conor Alison and Adam on highlighting the importance of making communities more inclusive for people with autism.
Conor O'Neill is the chairperson of the Monaghan Autism Friendly Committee and also co-founded an autism social group for adults.
The local advocate said it's very powerful to have an autistic person like himself who is at the helm of an autism friendly committee as it lets people know that autistic people can go out and lead. Listen back here to some fantastic coverage from Northern Sound on the group.

🌟 We are delighted to announce that Hub 21 is a Monaghan Autism Friendly Champion! 🌟

This recognition reflects Hub 21’s ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children, young people and families.

Team members at Hub 21 completed their training, along with introducing a number of supports:

✅ Visual guides and videos to help families prepare for their visit
✅ A sensory box available in our Family Room for anyone who may benefit from it
✅ Ongoing efforts to ensure our environment is accessible, welcoming and supportive

The event will feature a wide range of creative workshops, including printing, bushcraft, circus skills, messy play, Discowave and Sensory Song Tales Session. It offers a welcoming, inclusive environment where children and young people can explore, express themselves, and discover creativity at their own pace. Explore and Wonder will take place on Saturday, 6th June from 2pm to 5pm at SHARE Discovery Village, near Lisnaskea.

Explore and Wonder is a gentle, sensory-friendly creative day designed especially for children with additional needs and their families.
