🌿 What a beautiful afternoon yesterday at the Bog Bothy for our Wreath Making Workshop!

☀️ With glorious sunshine and plenty of creativity, attendees enjoyed crafting natural wreaths using seasonal materials while soaking up the stunning surroundings.

🙏A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to Sarah for sharing her skills and inspiration.

📸 Last Chance to Share Your Bog Photos! 📸

Today is the final day to submit photographs for our upcoming Milltownpass Bog Community Exhibition.

We’re looking for images that capture the many stories of our bogs — from wildlife and landscapes to community life, memories of turf cutting, and moments that make this special place meaningful to you.

Selected photographs will be professionally printed, framed and displayed as part of the exhibition, with photographers invited to keep their framed photograph afterwards as a thank you.

⚠️ Community Safety Notice ⚠️

We have been informed that a vehicle parked at the Milltownpass Bog and Woodland Trail car park was broken into on Friday between 5:30pm and 6:00pm.

We would like to remind everyone using the trail and car park to please take extra care and do not leave valuables or personal belongings visible in your vehicle.

The relevant authorities are being notified.

Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. We want everyone to continue enjoying this wonderful local amenity safely.

🌿 Leave No Trace Training 🌿

Today, people from communities across the region came together at the Bothy for Leave No Trace Awareness Training. We were delighted that two members of Milltownpass TidyTowns took part and received their certificates.

One fact that really stood out was that an aluminium can can take up to 500 years to degrade in the environment – a reminder of why the Leave No Trace principles are so important.

A big thank you to Tóchar Wetlands Restoration for funding the course and helping to promote responsible enjoyment of our natural spaces.

Join local bat expert Michael Wycherley for an evening walk through Milltownpass Bog & Woodland Trail and learn about the fascinating bats that call our bog and woodland home.

What a lovely afternoon at the Bog Bothy!

A big thank you to Olive Whelan for leading today's Nature Therapy workshop. It was wonderful to see such a strong attendance and to watch people take time out to connect with nature, each other and the unique beauty of our local bogland.

Events like this remind us of the value of creating spaces where people can pause, reflect and enjoy the natural environment around us.

Many thanks to everyone who came along and supported the event. We hope to see you again soon at the Bog Bothy.
