From its formation in 1998, the Cill Aodáin Choral Society has grown in members and experience. With over fifty singers, the society meets weekly to share their love for music. They have received numerous awards at choral competitions around Ireland. Under the musical direction of Finola Higgins-Cosgrove, the choir has explored a wide variety of musical genres ranging from musical theatre to gospe

l, traditional Irish to classical. The choir enjoy what they do and are always willing and ready to face new musical challenges. In recent years, the choir has been fortunate enough to perform in concerts with household names such as Tommy Fleming, Liam Lawton, Sean Keane, Rebecca Storm and Kiltimagh's up and coming soprano Anna-Louise Costello. They have also appeared on national television and have had the opportunity to record a single with Michael English. In 2013, the choral society performed in the European Parliament, Brussels, as part of the celebration of Ireland's presidency of the E.U.

To finish off another wonderful year of music and friendship we held our AGM in the beautiful Museum in Kiltimagh, where we hold our weekly practice. Our fabulous Chairwoman, Monica, noted the highlights of the past year - singing at the Christmas Carol Concert in the Church of the Holy Family, the Museum of Country Life, St Patrick’s Day Concert in the Town Hall Theatre and most recently competing in the Navan Choral Festival. We finished off the evening with refreshments at The Cill Aodain Hotel where the atmosphere was buzzing with excited talk of the choir’s plans for next year (hopefully a trip that requires passports!) and promises to meet up for coffee and chats over the summer. The Committee will meet up before our return to sing in September and get the ball rolling on another season of songs and laughter, and the Sopranos won’t get reprimanded for talking………..much! So until September we bid adieu 🎼

Just back from a very memorable day Navan Choral and Instrumental Festival. While the prize eluded us this time we certainly won the hearts of the adjudicators and audience with our two contrasting songs ‘NO ONE IS ALONE’ and ONE’ . .It was indeed a moral victory for us as we received very favourable feedback and positive comments .We were missing quite a few of our valuable members today and we hope we did ye all proud . We would like to thank our hardworking and dedicated Musical Director Finola Higgins and our gifted accompanist Aušra Kvietkutė Carra Music School..Thanks as always to our chairperson Monica Rowley and our hardworking committee for organising such a joyful trip 👏👏👏👏.

A very busy weekend ahead for us at the Cill Aodáin Choral Society... 🎶 🎵 First up - very early this Saturday morning, 🌛🌛 the Cill Aodáin Choral Society is delighted to be taking part in the Kiltimagh Darkness into Light Walk. 🌄🌅We will stop to sing 🎵🎶 at the museum, as the large crowd taking part go by. The DIL committee have done Trojan work promoting this event again this year with a huge registration, this event is so well supported - with fantastic participation from the community and the surrounding community.
Another early start for us on Sunday morning as we head out early to the Navan choral festival. 🎶🎶🎶 We are looking forward 🥳🥳 to this competition in Navan, where we will be competing against a large number of choirs for all over Ireland. Last year we took third place. A wonderful achievement after so long being unable to take part in competitions due to covid restrictions.
