Youth 2000 Ireland

Youth 2000 is an international movement of young people called to spread the Good News of the Gospel: 'Youth leading youth to the heart of the Church.'

Youth 2000 was started by a young Englishman called Ernest Williams after World Youth Day in Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 1989, when Pope John Paul II called for young people to spread the Good News of Jesus among their peers. “It is to you young people that the task first falls of bearing witness to the faith and of bringing into the third millennium the Gospel of Christ, who is the Way, th

e Truth and the Life.” – Pope John Paul II. In response to this, Ernest began to gather young people together in prayer, and soon this initiative, known as Youth 2000, spread to more than 25 countries all over the world. Youth 2000 is a spiritual initiative established to draw young people through Mary to a deep and lasting union with Jesus Christ, especially in the Eucharist, the “source and summit of the Christian life.”

🌸 YOUTH 2000 SUMMER BALL🌸

We are delighted to announce our 30+ Reunion Ball on the 25th July at the Osprey Hotel, Naas with Holy Mass beforehand at 4pm in Newbridge. Last year, Youth 2000 celebrated its 35th anniversary. Since Youth 2000 arrived in Ireland, many people have been impacted by its work and mission, with many personal encounters of Jesus in the Eucharist and life long friendships. Many beautiful vocations have also been discovered and nourished through Youth 2000.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for all friends, benefactors and former volunteers and retreatants to gather to reminisce and celebrate all that Youth 2000 has given. It is also an opportunity to find out more about how to support this generation of Youth 2000 volunteers and leaders.

Our Final Spring Regional Retreat for 2026 took place last Saturday in Leinster.

We were blessed with an atmosphere of faith and fellowship, filled with uplifting talks, powerful testimonies, and the celebration of Holy Mass by Bishop Donal Roche.

Thank you to everyone who travelled and joined us on the day.

Youth 2000 is a lay organisation where young people serve the Church in Ireland by working to draw other young people into a personal relationship with Jesus through the Eucharist, a deeper understanding of Scripture and His Blessed Mother.

Youth 2000 is a place where you can build lasting friendships with like minded people across Ireland but we are inviting YOU to be part of it's mission by becoming a vetted volunteer. 🙌🏻

A truly blessed day at the Connaught Regional Day Retreat in Knock Shrine last Saturday! 🙏 It was so uplifting to see such a wonderful gathering of young people come together.

What a reflective and prayerful weekend at our Munster regional retreat in CBS Secondary School, Midleton, Cork 🙏

Happy Easter everyone!
Christ is risen!

Today Fr Luuk encourages us to rejoice and allow the joy of Christ to take hold of who we are as we come to the end of our Lenten journey. Let Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour help and show us what life is really about.
Easter is the celebration of freedom that comes from being children of God.

This week’s Gospel is from John 20: 1- 9
