It takes it name from the local parish of Raymochy, and aims to study, preserve, and disseminate the history of the area

Our team of volunteers were out this morning to undertake a clean-up of Balleighan Abbey & Graveyard, the first of the year. It follows on a similar clean-up at Raymochy Abbey & Graveyard last weekend. A special thanks to Virginia for providing refreshments!

The Raymochy Historical Society will host a public talk by historian Belinda Mahaffy this Sunday 3rd May at 2.30pm. The title of Belinda’s talk is “Discovering Davy Crockett” where she will relate the story of the American politician, frontier man, and folk legend and his local ancestry connections.

The talk will be held in the Resource Centre, Manorcunningham at 2.30pm. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to come along. Tea and refreshments will be served afterwards.
