A message from The Alzheimer Society of Ireland:
We are looking for your help to support a group of great young lads who are taking on an incredible challenge from tomorrow May 28th - 30th.
Shane Cronin and four of his friends will be running in continuous 10km relay shifts over two days, travelling from Malin Head in Donegal to Hollyhill in Cork. They are doing this challenge in memory of the brothers' dad Jason "Fox" Cronin who passed away last summer at the age of 47 from Frontotemporal Dementia.
They’re inviting the public to join them for the final 5km stretch from Blarney to Hollyhill. The exact finish location in Hollyhill is still to be confirmed, but it would be fantastic if we could support them as much as possible. They’re expected to reach Blarney GAA Club at around 4pm on Saturday, 30th.
Please see the request from Shane and Scott Cronin.
"This run has always been about more than the five of us. It’s about every family affected by Frontotemporal Dementia, every person who has supported us, donated, shared a post, or followed the journey from the very beginning.
If you’d like to be part of the finish, here’s where you can join us:
📍 5KM Route - Meet us at Blarney GAA Club
📍 1KM Route - Meet us at Clogheen Church
Whether you run, jog, walk, or simply show up to support, it would mean the world to us. We expect to arrive in Blarney on Saturday at around 4pm.
Every euro raised will go directly to three incredible dementia care initiatives in Ireland Bessboro Activity Centre, Bessboro Activity Garden, Teach Mhuire, places that provide care, dignity, and meaningful connection for people living with dementia and the families who support them every day".
Let’s bring Miles for Memory home together. Please spread the word and help make their return to Cork a great one!!
