✨🎄 Malin Christmas Tree Lighting 2025 🎄✨

What a truly magical evening we had last night on the Green in Malin for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony! ✨❤️ The air was full of sparkle, excitement, and that unmistakable Christmas spirit — and we’re delighted the rain kindly waited until the very end of the night to make its appearance! 🌧️🎅

A huge thank you to our incredible Christmas Tree Committee and all of our wonderful sponsors who work tirelessly each year to make this event happen. Your dedication brings so much joy to our community. 💛🌟

And to everyone who joined us — thank you for coming out, laughing, cheering, and filling the night with warmth. Malin truly shines brightest when we gather together. ✨

A very special thank-you to Santa and his team of cheerful elves, especially the magical elf who arrived with his horse and trap to deliver Santa safely to the Green — a moment that made the children’s eyes light up brighter than the tree itself! 🐴🎅💫

We were also selling lines for our Christmas Draw last night — thank you to all who supported it! 🎟️✨ If you didn’t get the chance to buy lines, don’t worry — you can still find them in many of the businesses around the Green throughout the month. Your support helps keep this beautiful tradition alive.

Some of the photos you see here show the Christmas Tree Committee hard at work on Saturday, preparing the Green for Sunday’s big moment — the lighting of Malin’s Christmas Tree! ✨

Sunday, 7 December, the heart of our village will come alive with festive magic, music, and a visit from the big man himself!

🎄 What’s Happening on the Day:

☕ 4:30pm — O&F Coffee Point Arrives
They’ll be on the Green serving warm beverages and sweet treats to keep everyone cosy and cheerful.

🎶 5:00pm — Live Music with Conor Susie
Conor Susie will begin playing on the Green at 5pm, filling the village with festive spirit.

🎄 5:30pm — Tree Lighting Ceremony
At 5:30, the Christmas Tree lighting will begin. The wonderful children of Inish Ceol will sing your favourite Christmas carols, creating the perfect magical moment for the big switch-on.

🐴✨ A Very Special Arrival
Keep your eyes on Malin Bridge… because Santa Claus will make his grand entrance in a magical horse and trap, driven by his trusty elves! After arriving, Santa will head to his cosy grotto, where every child will have the chance to meet him.

📬 Santa’s Magical Mailbox
Bring along your letter to Santa and pop it into his special mailbox on the Green. Be sure to write your name and return address — a letter might arrive for you from Santa himself, direct from the North Pole!

🍫 A Treat for Every Child
Each child visiting Santa will receive their very own selection box.

🍻 7:30pm — Conor Susie in McClean’s Bar
For the big kids, the festive fun continues! Conor Susie will be playing live in McClean’s Bar at 7:30pm.

✨🎄 Christmas Magic is in the Air! 🎄✨

This Sunday, 7 December at 5:30 PM, we’ll gather together for the annual Malin Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony as our beautiful tree lights up the village! 🌟

And this year, Santa has sent us a very special surprise… 🎅✨
A red-and-white magical mailbox straight from the North Pole has arrived just in time!

📬💫 Children are invited to bring their letters to Santa and post them into the enchanted mailbox. If they include their name and return address, they just might receive a little Christmas magic back from Santa in the post… ✉️🎁

Bring the family, soak up the festive cheer, and help us kick off the season in true Malin style. ❤️🎄

We’re delighted to once again welcome the children of Inish Ceol, who will fill the evening with festive cheer through their wonderful performance. ❤️🎶

Be sure to keep watch… because our very special guest, Santa Claus, will be arriving in style on a horse-drawn trap! 🐴🎅✨ After his grand arrival, little ones can visit Santa in his grotto, where selection boxes will be waiting for all the children. 🎁

And don’t forget to bring your letters for Santa’s letterbox — he’ll be collecting them on the night! 📬💌
