🎤 Three speeches. Three journeys. One powerful night.
Last night’s meeting was a reminder of what Toastmasters is all about — growth, support, and finding your voice.
✨ A member stepping up to rehearse for a book launch — a real honour
✨ Exploring how to use your voice to create impact
✨ A powerful reflection on personal growth over the past year
🏆 One speech resonated so strongly it earned the Best Contribution award, a great example of how growth here doesn’t just benefit you — it inspires others too.
☕ It’s a supportive space where you can practise, build confidence, and finally articulate the thoughts in your head.
You could wait… or you could start now.
👋 If you’re curious, come along and see what it’s all about. Next meeting 22nd April @ 8pm The Grand Hotel Malahide

A special evening at Toastmasters this week. ☘️
We may not all have Gaeilge líofa, but the night gave us a chance to reflect on the Irish language — its poetry, its rhythm, and the connection it gives us to times past. Sharing cúpla focal together reminded us how much beauty there is in the language.
We also enjoyed three strong speeches from Caroline and Colm, and a very strong start from Ian. We can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
Next meeting: our Area Contest.
Next regular meeting: Wednesday, April 8, visitors welcome.
Focal deireanach: blas agus snas ☘️

Getting ready for our Gaeilge themed meeting, what other phrases or words should be added to this list?

☘️ What’s happening at Toastmasters Malahide this week? Oíche na Gaeilge! ☘️
To mark Seachtain na Gaeilge, our theme this week will be Irish. During our Table Topics session there will be a chance to use cĂşpla focal if you have them.
Don’t know any Irish? No problem — you’re very welcome to come along and get involved.
If you’re curious about Toastmasters or would like to improve your public speaking, it’s a great place to build confidence, improve communication, and grow as a speaker in a supportive environment.

What a fantastic Competition Night at our Toastmasters club last night 🌟
There was such a strong sense of encouragement in the room — members stepping up to challenge themselves, and everyone else right behind them with support and applause. Nights like this really show what our club is about: learning, courage and community.
Whether it’s your first speech or your first competition, the growth happens because we do it together.
If you’re looking for a welcoming space to build confidence, improve your speaking, or simply meet a great group of people, we’d love to see you.
Join us Wednesday 11 March at 8pm, The Grand Hotel — visitors are always very welcome.

Last night reminded me why people join Toastmasters.
Not to become “great speakers” overnight — but to feel safe enough to try.
At our Open Night, members and guests alike shared honest stories of real fear, real growth, and finding their voice in a supportive community. It was a powerful reminder of how much we all gain from a diverse mix of experiences in the room, and how that diversity strengthens feedback and supports everyone’s personal goals.
We also had two open-night-perfect speeches: Keith’s helpful recount of Atomic Habits and Colm’s very practical and supportive take on speech writing — as easy as 1-2-3.
If public speaking has ever felt intimidating, you’re not alone. Toastmasters at its best is safe, human, and genuinely useful. 🎤✨
Next meeting 11th Feb Grand Hotel Malahide, free for visitors to attend, all welcome.

Preparations are underway for our Open Night, free to visitors, come along and bring a friend.
