CHEQUE PRESENTATION TO CAPUCHIN DAY CENTRE
We were pleased and humbled to pay a visit to the Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People in Bow St. Dublin 7 last week to present a cheque for €6,389, part of the proceeds from our Classic & Vintage Motor Show which was on 17 May.
The Capuchin Day Centre provides support for adults and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, hunger or social exclusion. In 2025, the Centre provided 331,300 hot meals, 77,300 food parcels, infant parcels comprising 8,019 packs of nappies and 5,457 packs of baby formula, 5,640 onsite family meals, 7,515 showers, 189 haircuts and 3,434 medical consultations. It costs on average around €2 to provide a hot breakfast and approximately €5 to provide a hot dinner.
The Day Centre provides a moment of calm in a safe space, and, for some, a routine restored of being able to sit down as a family and enjoy a meal, and the chance of connection that engagement brings. Also, that connection can be the opportunity to be sign-posted to other services or supports on-site, like taking a hot shower, attending a GP or nurse clinic, accessing the dentist or optometrist service or availing of family supports that help parents with babycare and back-to-school essentials.
We can think of no better cause to support and it was an honour to see first-hand the amazing and important work that the team do and hope to be able to provide some support again in the future.
