A busy Sunday morning for one of our dedicated volunteers who was out bright and early tackling w**ds across the village. ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒฑ

The morning's work included clearing w**ds from the bike roundabout on Skerries Road along with three additional roundabouts, helping to keep these key entrances looking neat and welcoming.

The volunteer also took on the entrance to The Hub before continuing along the bypass, removing w**ds all the way up to the roundabout at Lusk Village.

It's amazing what can be achieved with a few hours of hard work and community spirit. Every w**d removed helps improve the appearance of our village and makes a real difference for residents and visitors alike.

A huge thank you to our volunteer for giving up part of their Sunday morning to help keep Lusk looking its best. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ€

๐ŸŒฟ Forge Field Car Park โ€“ Festival Ready! ๐ŸŒฟ

A big thank you to our two Friday volunteers who spent time tackling the ongoing issue of w**ds, litter and debris around the Forge Field car park.
The team of 2 cleared extensive w**d growth from kerbs, parking bays and entrances, giving the entire area a much cleaner and tidier appearance.

Unfortunately, the car park continues to be a hotspot for passing motorists stopping and leaving rubbish behind, with a large number of cigarette butts and litter collected during the clean-up.

A special mention also goes to Matthew, who happened to be waiting for a collection at the car park and kindly took the time to lend a hand. Community spirit like that never goes unnoticed and was greatly appreciated by our volunteers. ๐Ÿ‘

As part of the tidy-up, ivy was also removed from the entrance pillars and adjoining stone walls. While it may look attractive, ivy can cause long-term damage to stonework and mortar, so removing it now will help protect these features for years to come.

With festival season upon us and many visitors expected to use the car park, it's great to see the area looking its best and ready to welcome everyone.

๐Ÿ‘ Huge thanks once again to our volunteers and to Matthew for giving up their time to help keep Lusk looking clean, cared for and community proud.

If you're enjoying the improvements around the village and would like to lend a hand, we'd always love to welcome new volunteers to the team. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿšฎ Volunteer Spotlight โ€“ Skerries Road Clean-Up ๐Ÿšฎ

Thursday evening saw one of our dedicated litter-picking volunteers take on the stretch of Skerries Road, covering both sides of the road from the village out to the water pump.

Despite the long grass and challenging conditions in places, a significant amount of litter was removed, helping to improve the appearance of one of the main approaches into Lusk. Every bag collected makes a difference and helps keep our community looking its best.

A huge thank you to our volunteer for giving up their evening to tackle this route.

Community pride is built one litter pick at a time, and it's efforts like these that make a visible impact for everyone who lives in and visits our village.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you for another great job done and for helping keep Lusk clean, welcoming and litter-free. ๐Ÿƒโ™ป๏ธ

Another day, another water pump tidied! ๐Ÿšฐโœจ
Today's attention turned to the water pump along Quickpenny Road, where 2 of our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and gave it a well-deserved clean-up.

These pumps are a small but important part of our village's character and heritage. Over time, weather and dirt can leave them looking tired, but with a little care and effort they're soon looking proud again.

This is all part of our ongoing project to refresh the village's water pumps, with those in need also set to receive a fresh coat of paint in the coming weeks.

It's amazing how these simple improvements can brighten up our streets and help keep Lusk looking its best.

A huge thank you to everyone giving their time to make these improvements happen. Every tidy-up, every flower planted, and every bit of litter lifted helps make a difference. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ’ A Huge Thank You to Lusk Men's Shed ๐Ÿ’

As we head into the summer months, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the fantastic team at Lusk Men's Shed who have stepped forward to help keep our village looking its best by taking on the important task of watering some of our flower barrels throughout the summer. ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ

Our colourful floral displays brighten up every corner of Lusk and simply wouldn't thrive without regular care and watering during the warmer, drier months. The support of the Men's Shed is invaluable and greatly appreciated by everyone who enjoys these beautiful displays.

We would also like to say a sincere thank you to B&V Nurseries for their generous donation of 8 bags of compost to support our summer planting programme. Their support helps us create the vibrant displays that bring so much colour and life to our village. ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒป

๐ŸŒฟ Could You Help Too? ๐ŸŒฟ
While the flower barrels are now covered, we are looking for local residents who might be willing to keep an eye on a flower bed near their home and help with occasional watering during dry spells.

Many of our beds rely on volunteer support, and even a few minutes with a watering can or hose can make a huge difference.

It's a wonderful way to take pride in your local area and help ensure our flowers continue to flourish all summer long.

If you'd be interested in becoming a "Flower Bed Friend" for a bed near you, please send us a message. We'd love to hear from you and welcome more residents into our growing community of volunteers. ๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’š

Together, we're helping make Lusk a brighter, more colourful place for everyone to enjoy.

๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฟ A Big Thank You to Our Weekend Volunteers! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you to our weekend volunteer crews who were out across Lusk once again helping to keep our village looking its best.

One team undertook an extensive litter pick covering the entire village, collecting discarded rubbish from roadsides, green spaces and public areas. It's a big job, but one that makes a noticeable difference to the appearance of Lusk and helps create a cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy.

Meanwhile, another group of volunteers focused their efforts on Orlynn Grove, carrying out a thorough tidy-up of the area and helping to keep it looking neat, welcoming and well maintained.

These improvements don't happen by accident. They are the result of dedicated local people giving up their free time to take pride in their community and make a positive difference for everyone who lives here.

Thank you to all who volunteered this weekend. Your hard work, commitment and community spirit are greatly appreciated and help make Lusk a village we can all be proud of. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค
