📸 Throwback Thursday – Lucan Parade, early 1990s 🎱 Here’s a brilliant one from the early parade days — a snooker table set up on the back of a truck! Does anyone remember Raphael’s Snooker Hall?

The club was home base for Ireland’s own Fergal O’Brien, one of the country’s top professionals and a former British Open winner.

And there was history made there too — Stuart Bingham scored a maxi, the famous 147 break during the 2007 Irish Classic quarter-final against Joe Swail before being edged out in the semi-final by local favourite Fergal O’Brien. The tournament was eventually won by David Morris.

Were you there? Do you remember Raphael’s? 👀

📸 Throwback Thursday – Beech Park FC, Lucan Parade some time in the 1990’s ⚽☘️ Banner held high, marching with pride, and representing their club and community marching through Lucan Village on St. Patrick’s Day. A brilliant snapshot of young Lucanians bringing energy, colour and team spirit to the streets.

Ní neart go cur le chéile! 💪🙌👏🙏🔥🙌 What we achieve together! Thank you to 100+ amazing volunteers – from South Dublin Volunteer Centre, Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Ireland, Lucan Tidy Towns, Lucan Men’s Shed, Women’s Collective Ireland Lucan, and Transition Year students from St. Joseph’s College Lucan – we achieved so much on St. Patrick’s Day:

hot drinks and snacks ☕🍩 ready by 10am,
barriers 🚧 up by 11am,
gazebos 🎨🎈 for facepainting & balloons, review stand decorated 🎉, sound system 🎶 checked, roads 🛑 closed by 2pm
35 groups organised and in their starting positions ✅
… and at 3pm we were off!

and then we took it all down after the parade 🙌🔥🙌

A job for everyone, and it’s great craic! 🍀🔥

We salute you, thank you, and celebrate every bit of energy you brought, we loved the day and hope you loved it too 🙏❤️
