Lucan Kayak Club, in collaboration with Canoeing Ireland, is running an introductory course specifically designed for adults who are interested in learning kayaking. This course aims to help participants achieve the Level 2 Kayak Skills Award, equipping them with the fundamental skills and knowledge required for safe and enjoyable kayaking experiences.
The course will take place at the Canoeing Ireland Training Centre, located on the scenic Strawberry Beds. All sessions are led by qualified instructors, and all necessary equipment and facilities will be provided.
Participants should bring their own swimwear, towel, suitable footwear for water activities, and a sense of adventure.
The course comprises four Thursday evening sessions, each scheduled from 19:00 to 21:30. Following these evening sessions, there is a final river trip on Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00. This structure allows participants to practice and build their skills in a flat-water environment before applying them during a river journey.
Starting Thurs 4th June 19.00 – 21.30 until Sun 28th June

We look forward to the switching on of the Christmas lights in the village. Well done to all involved in making this happen.

We would like to welcome you all down this coming Friday to Lucan Village, where we will host the Christmas Lights across from Courtney's Pub. We would like to thank Cllr. Caroline Brady who is leading the event with some members of the committee and members of the community. We would like to continue the tradition of putting on the lights in the Village, and this year, members of the Little Blue Heroes will switch on the Lights approx 19.00 - So Please Join us on Friday 12th of December.
