From February 27 to March 31, 2022, Baryshivska TG was under occupation. There is considerable destruction in many settlements. On March 11, Baryshivka was hit by an Iskander-type missile, as a result of which significant damage was caused to the Baryshiv sports complex "Progress".

In order to prevent the final destruction of the building and to restore systematic visits to sports sections by young people and children, the "Berezani Community Foundation" charity organization, together with athletes from Baryshiv Oblast, united around the idea of ​​restoring the "Progress" sports complex.

We are grateful to the "Berezan Community Foundation", the NGO "Baryshivka - Pullakh - Berezan Partnership Association", the "Baryshivska Grain Company" LLC. Special gratitude to the NGO ISAR "Union" for the grant support provided for the implementation of the project "Sports future of the youth of the Baryshiv community" based on the results of the grant competition "Emergency support of community funds" as part of the financing of the grant agreement between the Foundation Ch.S. MOTTA and the NGO Initiative Center for Promoting Activity and Development of the Community Initiative "Unification".

The result of the implementation of the project is the dismantled rubble after the rocket attack, the restoration of the destroyed roof of 680 square meters, the replacement of 27 windows of the "Progress" sports complex in the village of Baryshivka.

Until the time of destruction, the sports complex had sections for Greco-Roman wrestling, weightlifting, boxing and fitness, where more than 150 people from among children and young people worked.

Today, it is impossible to resume regular visits to sports sections. The building was saved from complete destruction, but there is still a need for ongoing repairs inside the building. We hope that the training process will be resumed in the spring.
