Attention all street parkers. Contractors for Longford County Council, and also the ESB, have informed us that they will be in town tomorrow to carry out some essential branch trimming work.

They would greatly appreciate it if you could keep this in mind when parking, both to facilitate the work, and to keep yourself and your vehicle safe, of course.

And when that's all done and dusted, we'll get our stepladders out and start wrapping fairy lights round the trees. It'll cheer them up after their surgery. Wish us some warmer weather, folks.

A bitter north-easterly wind wasn't going to get in the way of the TY students from Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon today. They took to the street fully tooled up and ready to wage war on weeds, moss and litter. Their energy was inspirational, and we were delighted to get their help. A credit to their school, their families, and their teacher Ms. Curley. Well done agus míle buíochas!

Longford County Council have just asked us to pass the following message on to Ballymahon residents who park on the street. A road sweeper will be in town tomorrow morning early, so if at all possible, it would be appreciated if drivers could park elsewhere for the duration. While this is a temporary inconvenience, it would be a great help in giving the gutters and kerb areas a badly-needed scrub.
If you're able to co-operate at all, we'd greatly appreciate it. Apologies for the short notice. Thanks, folks.

There's always plenty to do around the town. So we were thrilled when a cheerful gang of staff from Ballymahon Lidl willingly gave up their Saturday morning to help us out. They weren't one bit afraid to get stuck in to the dirty jobs, either.

Sincere thanks to Kata and her team for all of their hard work planting, weeding and muck-shovelling, and for the generous donation of new flowers, too. Much appreciated!

Welcome to Ballymahon, Lidl, from everyone here in Tidy Towns.

We have decided to call off our fundraising quiz tonight, Oct 3rd, in Cooney's, due to the bad weather, for everyone's safety and comfort. We'll rearrange it soon. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we hope you understand. Stay safe and warm everyone.
