๐ฏ๏ธ Kashmir Black Day Commemorated in Ireland ๐ฏ๏ธ
On October 27th, the Kashmir Peace & Solidarity Council Ireland (KPSCI) hosted a powerful event to mark Kashmir Black Dayโa solemn remembrance of the day in 1947 when Indian forces first landed in Jammu & Kashmir, initiating a decades-long occupation that continues to this day in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), one of the most militarized zones in the world.
The event brought together a distinguished gathering of diplomats, academics, human rights advocates, and community leaders from across Ireland, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
๐ต๐ฐ Her Excellency Aisha Farouqi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Ireland, delivered a heartfelt message of solidarity.
๐ Maj Gen (R) Guray Alper, a renowned Turkish scholar on security and geopolitics, offered a compelling analysis of the broader regional implications of the Kashmir conflict.
๐ฃ๏ธ Dr. Parvez A Butt, Chairman of KPSCI, called for urgent international attention to prevent Gaza-like atrocities in the region.
๐ค Sadia Athar Butt, President of KPSCI, welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of unified, peaceful advocacy in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
This event reaffirmed KPSCIโs commitment to peaceful dialogue, justice, and international solidarity. We thank all who joined us in standing for the rights and dignity of the people of Kashmir.
