Clondra Cemetary Sunday will take place this Sunday June 22nd with the blessing of the graves after 12 o clock mass. As you are all preparing for the blessings of the graves and are tidying up your family plots the committee would be grateful if you could please remove and dispose of your rubbish in order for the Cemetary to look it's best on the day.

Our annual churchgate collection for the maintenance of the graveyard will take place on the day also the donations received from this collection all goes towards the yearly grass, hedge cutting and any other expenses occurred during the year. The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuous support as without your generous donations the cemetary would not be able to maintain its high standard of maintenance. A special word of thank you to Malachy our caretaker who does a wonderful job making sure the cemetary is always looking it's best.

In relation to the restoration of the Abbey within the cemetary all restoration works has been completed. We have set new grass seed in order to bring the inside grounds of the Abbey back to its orginal state. There will be one ivy treatment to the Abbey later in the year this treatment will need to be completed annually to make sure regrowth does not occur.. Unfortunately we did not qualify for funding this year however we will apply again next year in order to place heritage information signage about the Abbey within the cemetary.

The committee are always looking for new members if you are interested in becoming a committee member please contact Patricia Carrig Brady / Seamus Murtagh or email us on [email protected]
