Strokes are a medical emergency, and urgent treatment is essential. The sooner a person gets treatment for a stroke, the less damage is likely to happen.

If you think you or someone else is having a stroke, dial 999 or 112 immediately.

Huge congratulations to our First Responder Gill pictured first on the left who participated in the Emergency First Responder Course (EFR) and passed her final exam with flying colours we are so proud and grateful to have Gill as part of our group. Also well done to our other responder who has recently joined us Kiana who is a course instructor, both ladies are also part of the Kerry Civil Defence 👏🏻 we are very lucky to have them ❤️

Help Build Blood Supplies for the busy Easter period - Listowel Monday 30th & Tuesday 31st March.
The need to build blood stocks around this period is especially important.
2026 has seen a spike in demand for blood.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is asking donors both existing & first time to attend this clinic.
A strong turnout now will help ensure hospitals have the blood supplies they need over Easter period.

Listowel Community First Responders would like to thank the Department of Rural and Community Development and Kerry County Council for financial assistance under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025 in respect of our newly purchased gazebo for our future events which we will have by the 19th of February.

This will make a huge difference when we are attending events and providing information so that we stand out and have protection from the elements.

F- Facial Weakness
A- Arm Weakness
S- Slurred Speech
T- Time to call 999

It has been a very busy year for the group as we have attended different types of calls. We are a voluntary group who love what we do ❤️
