The Board and Staff of Waterford LEADER Partnership CLG (WLP) wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to Austin Flavin, whose term as Chair concluded on 28 September 2026.
Austin has served as a Board Director since November 2017 and became Chair in 2023, serving two terms. His leadership played a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of our organisation. Under his stewardship, WLP went from strength to strength, with a number of significant achievements, including the introduction of the Social Farming Programme in 2017, securing contracts for the new Local Area Employment Service and Walks Scheme in 2022, the launch of a new LEADER Programme in 2024, and the introduction of the Little Jobs Service Pilot Programme in 2026. Austin also led WLP's strategic planning process in 2025.
Austin's guidance, dedication and keen interest in all aspects of WLP's work will be long remembered. His commitment to leading the Board, ensuring effective governance, strategic oversight and accountability, while fostering a positive culture of collaboration in support of WLP's vision and mission, is highly commended.
Austin is an excellent example of the difference that committed volunteer Board Directors and Chairs can make. We are deeply grateful for the time and expertise he so generously gave to WLP, both inside and outside of Board meetings.
We wish Austin continued success in his future endeavours and look forward to seeing the positive influence he will undoubtedly continue to have in the community.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Gráinne Moynihan as the new Chair of Waterford LEADER Partnership CLG and wish her every success in her new role.
