Fáilte Ireland, in partnership with the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, has launched a new online learning module to support the planning and delivery of safe, responsible and sustainable outdoor activity events across Ireland.
Outdoor activity events play an important role in connecting people with Ireland’s landscapes and communities, while also enhancing the visitor experience. This course supports organisers in creating events that are enjoyable for participants, respectful of place, and positively experienced by local communities and visitors alike.
The interactive module brings the Guidelines for Organising Outdoor Activity Events to life, supporting their practical application in planning and delivering events. The guidelines were developed through Comhairle na Tuaithe as part of Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors: The National Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2023-2027.
Suitable for both new and experienced organisers, it applies to a wide range of activities including walking, cycling, trail running, swimming and more.
