Freemount Macra had a lovely visit to Kanturk hospital on Sunday, spending some time with the residents, playing a few tunes, sharing stories and having the chats ☺️.

And of course, no visit would be complete without a few very special four-legged visitors! 🐶🥰 The puppies were a big hit and brought plenty of smiles all round!

It was a pleasure to spend some time with the residents and hopefully brighten up their day as much as they brightened ours. ❤️

Join us every Tuesday for the next few weeks at 7:30pm for a relaxed evening walk, a catch-up, and a chance to meet new people.

Freemount Macra are incredibly proud of our own Caroline O’Connell for representing both our club and Avondhu with such grace, confidence and enthusiasm at this year’s Queen of the Castle Festival! 🥰👑

Caroline truly embodied everything that Macra is about – community spirit, friendship and getting involved. It was fantastic to see her enjoy every moment of the weekend while making memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Caroline throughout her journey and to all those who made the festival such a memorable occasion.

Freemount Macra are incredibly proud to have Caroline O’Connell representing us and Avondhu at this weekend’s Queen of the Castle Festival in Cahir 👑✨

Over the past four years, Caroline has become an integral part of our club and region. Whether she’s representing Freemount in competitions, leading Avondhu as Regional Chairperson for the past two years, or simply lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed, she brings enthusiasm, kindness and commitment to everything she does.

Caroline has embraced every opportunity that Macra has to offer. From winning Capers 2026, to taking part in countless club and regional events and volunteering opportunities, she has always represented us with pride. Her dedication was also recognised when she was named a finalist in the Macra Leadership Awards – a reflection of the time, energy and passion she gives to our organisation.

Caroline’s positivity, generosity and genuine nature have made a lasting impact on our club, and our region and embodies everything Macra stands for; friendship, community and leadership. We couldn’t think of a better person to represent Freemount Macra and Avondhu at this year’s Queen of the Castle Festival.

Recently we held our annual AGM in which new members were elected for our committee. Firstly we would like to give a massive welcome and congratulations to our newly elected 2026/2027 Committee. We wish you every success in your new roles and look forward to another fantastic year of friendship, teamwork, and events.

As one chapter comes to an end and another begins, we’d like to extend our sincere thanks to the 2025/2026 Committee for their dedication, hard work and commitment throughout the past year. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done. 😊

🏆🥇Dromcollogher Carnival Fancy Dress Parade! 🥇🏆

What a night! We were delighted to take home 1st place at the Dromcollogher Carnival Fancy Dress Parade on Thursday night with our take on the Limerick vs Cork rivalry! 💚❤️

From the King of the Road to the Ryder Cup tickets… we had it all covered⛳🐴

It was an evening full of laughs, singing and broken hurley’s🏑 (see picture above 🫣)

A huge thank you to everyone that got involved, and helped make the night such great craic. 👏🏻
