Come Dig In With Us!

Join us for a fun and friendly evening of planting as we add a splash of colour—and a few tasty treats—to our Town Square with a mix of ornamental flowers and food plants.

Once the planting is done, we'll put the tools aside and enjoy some tea, coffee, and a chat. It's a great opportunity to catch up with neighbours, meet new faces, and enjoy a bit of community craic.

No need to bring a thing—we'll have all the tools and gloves ready for you. Feel free to bring along family, friends, and neighbours too; the more, the merrier!

For Marie O'Connor, sport has always been part of life.

Thanks to the gift of transplantation, she has been able to return to doing what she loves while inspiring others through her journey. 💚

📍 Lahinch, Co. Clare
💚 Transplant Recipient since 1998
🏅 Best Female Athlete of the Games in 2022
🇮🇪 Team Ireland Athlete

Marie has proudly represented Ireland at numerous transplant sporting events and has become a much-loved member of the Transplant Sport Ireland family.

💬 "I am and will forever be grateful to my donor. I can live my life as best I can thanks to the gift they gave me."

One of Marie's proudest achievements has been returning to sport and sharing her story with others.

💬 "Being able to get back to playing sports again and telling people about the great gift I received from my donor."

For Marie, the friendships formed through transplant sport are every bit as important as the competition.

💬 "I've been to a good few Games and I love meeting people like myself who have their own story to tell. The Transplant Sport Ireland team are my second family and I love them all."

Her dedication and achievements earned her the honour of being named Athlete of the Games, recognising both her sporting success and her contribution to transplant sport.

Her message about organ donation is heartfelt and simple:
💬 "It is the greatest gift you can give to anyone. I am an example of it and so very grateful."

Proudly representing Clare and Ireland, Marie continues to inspire everyone around her with her positivity, gratitude and love of life.

Transplant Sport Ireland is the National Governing Body for Transplant Sport in Ireland, representing Irish transplant recipients, dialysis patients and living donors through sport and internationally through the World Transplant Games Federation, the European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Federation and Transplant Active.
