REMINDER: Castleconnell Scout Group are holding a metal recycling day to raise funds for the upkeep of their campsite. Our own group derives huge benefit and use from the campsite and we would love to see everyone support this event. Below is a list of the kinds of items they will and will not accept.

Items can be dropped to Castleconnell Campsite on Friday from 5-7pm and Saturday from 9-1pm.

Our Scrap Metal Fundraiser is getting closer!

Please support Castleconnell Scouts and take this opportunity to clear out any unwanted scrap metal and dispose of it responsibly while helping to raise much-needed funds for our Scout Group. ⚜️

Our neighbours in Castleconnell have organised a metal collection fundraiser to help with the upkeep of their lovely campsite (which we, and other groups across the country, use quite regularly) and to raise money to replace group equipment. Please support this very worthy cause if you can.

📣 Castleconnell Scouts – First Fundraiser of 2026/27! ⚜️

We’re kicking off the new Scouting year with our first fundraiser! 🎉

Funds raised will go directly towards the maintenance and upkeep of our Scout campsite, as well as helping us to purchase and replace essential group equipment used by our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Ventures throughout the year. 🏕️🔥🧭

Our campsite and equipment are a huge part of giving our young people the opportunity to learn new skills, get outdoors, camp, explore and enjoy all that Scouting has to offer.

Our Heritage event is in full swing at hall. Come see us, learn about our Cub water project and grab yourself a lovely book or bake to enjoy. We have free sandwiches and refreshments here, and space to relax and read or have a chat.

Three of our diligent Cubs - Grace, Sofia and Ruby - have been working hard on a fantastic environmental project as part of their Chief Scout Award with Murroe Boher Cub Scouts. 🐾🌿
They have been investigating the Dooglasha River, using kick-sampling and looking at the tiny creatures living in the water to learn more about the health and quality of our local river. 🐛🔎
They will be presenting their project at Water Heritage Day this Sunday, and we would love to see lots of familiar faces there to support them! 💙

Our Cubs are taking part in National Heritage Week!

Some of our 3rd year Cubs, with the help of our community water officer from River Basin Management Service, carried out a water survey over the summer as part of their Chief Scout Award. They will showcase what they did and what they found at Murroe Muintir na Tire Hall this coming Sunday from 11-1pm.

This event is suitable for all ages. Come and learn about kick sampling and try your hand at too :) There will be refreshments, plus a small cake and book sale.
