Embrace the waist series 🖤

This post was far from easy to write 🤣 I was hovering over the post button for an hour. This here is an Instagram vs. Reality shot. Easy to be fooled, isn't it?

Through my own experiences and heartfelt conversations with close friends in this space, I’ve come to truly understand the silent battles so many of us fight: the effects of conditions like PCOS, the relentless cycles of medications and hormones, and the toll they take not just on our bodies, but on our sense of self. These experiences make our body weight fluctuate—and with it, often, our confidence and self-worth.

It can be so disheartening to see picture-perfect images on social media, with flawless, filtered bodies that don’t reflect reality, yet somehow set an impossible standard. They make us question ourselves and, sadly, make younger generations feel they have to live up to something that isn’t even real. There’s an immense pressure to look a certain way to fit into a mould that has nothing to do with who we truly are.

But when I stop and really think, I ask myself: if life were to end tomorrow, would I be happy looking back on a life spent worrying about something as fleeting and small as my weight? Is that the legacy I want to leave behind—a life lived in comparison and self-doubt?

The truth is, we deserve so much more than that. We deserve to love ourselves, to feel at home in our own skin, and to embrace every part of our journey without shame or self-judgment. So here’s my reminder to you—and to myself—to hold onto that love fiercely. Let’s live our lives fully, with kindness toward ourselves, because that’s what matters 🌸💛

TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️
The following slides contain graphic images of endometriosis affecting various organs. Viewer discretion is advised.

Hello again, my lovelies! While organising my medical paperwork in preparation for the next steps of my endometriosis journey, I came across the images from my diagnostic laparoscopy in January 2024, performed by the incredibly professional and dedicated

I was beyond thrilled to receive these images and to have full visibility into my medical care. Dr. Johnson kept me informed by copying me on all correspondence, from referrals to clinical letters. I was amazed by this, as it was a level of transparency I had never experienced during my 28 years in Ireland. During my journey, I often had to fight for access to my own medical records as I moved from hospital to hospital (with some spicy language involved 🌶).

I firmly believe we are far behind in this regard. Patients should have full access to all their medical reports, referrals, images—everything related to their own bodies.

What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments, and don't hesitate to disagree—variety is the spice of life so let's get talking 💛🙏🌿🌟🫧
