We work with local communities that have benefited least from economic and social development and we aim to promote PAUL Partnership is the local development company for Limerick City. We are a local, area-based, multi-sectoral partnership company. We were initially established in 1989, under the EU Poverty 3 Programme, as a local response to long-term unemployment. Since then, we have expanded ou
r remit to address the wider issue of social exclusion and to promote social inclusion. We work with local communities that have benefited least from economic and social development and aim to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of people living in Limerick City. We do this by:
• Working directly with individuals to support them to access employment, enterprise, education and training programmes
• Supporting local community-based organisations to develop and deliver social inclusion services and supports at a local level
• Building the capacity of individuals and communities to have a say in the policies and decisions and that affect the quality of life in their own communities
We implement programmes and actions across a number of areas, including: Community Development, Employment Support, Enterprise Support, Education and Lifelong Learning, Early Years. Our core programme is the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (known as SICAP). SICAP is a new national local community development programme. It provides social inclusion, education, employment and enterprise supports to individuals and community organisations. The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2015-2017 is funded by the Irish Government and co-funded by the European Social Fund and includes a special allocation under the Youth Employment Initiative
