Our Lady of Lourdes parish has a long history of providing adult education classes dating back to 1987. At present adult education programmes and services in the parish are being offered by Our Lady of Lourdes (CARE) Adult Education Group. This group is currently made up of a consortium of three organizations: OLOL Centre Adult Education, OLOL CDP (Community Development Group) and Our Lady of Lour
des National School. We are committed to providing a quality learner centred education service which is open to all in our community. The group works in partnership with the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB), including The Adult Guidance and Literacy Services, in providing a comprehensive service to our learners. Our work is funded by the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). We are also supported by, and are members of, Limerick Community Education Network (LCEN). Our Lady of Lourdes (CARE) Adult Education Group Quality Assurance System has been developed through a consultative process with learners, tutors, staff and its own Committee. We are particularly grateful for the support of the LCETB and the Limerick Community Education Network in the process. The guidelines provided by QQI have been used to develop the Centre’s Quality Assurance System. Our Lady of Lourdes (CARE) Adult Education Group QA team will have responsibility for ensuring that the Centre delivers on its commitment to a quality service for all its learners, staff and stakeholders.
