So much going on. Last night we finished the weeding of New Street, Castle St and Railway Road. Lots of vegetation bursting into life, in all the wrong places. We could definitely do with more help, even though our dedicated team turned out in force last night.
In brighter news, Anne, Debbie and Terri planted up some Shannon Stores bedding plants at Daly’s Cross.

And so the work goes on. Following a near miss for an Enable Ireland service user, we reviewed the bed below the Mackey statue in Castle Street for nests, before we removed excessive scrub growth which was making the pavement impassable for people with limited mobility. We also took a few hours to continue our mechanical weeding at the Ferry. A rewarding evening’s work. Thanks to Anne, Frances, Pauline and John for their efforts.

What a busy day we had with so much achieved. It started with more strimming of the surrounds of the Terrace Cherry Blossoms. This was followed by the installation of two new planters at our Welcome Stone at the Hermitage. Then Pa did a super job of removing all the dangerous glass and debris at the bottle bank. Eamonn got a lot of weeding done in New Street and the lower half of Main Street. And we finished the day off with George making his iconic van available to help us water our 37 hanging baskets. Thanks finally to Anne for having the water bowser topped up and ready to go. A most satisfying day. Photos in reverse order. .

A productive early afternoon as we aim to get the very large green area at St Flannan’s Terrace and St Patrick’s Villas spruced up for the upcoming National Tidy Towns adjudicator. Today we made a lot of progress, strimming, weeding and bark mulching.

The weeding effort in our community continues. Inspired by great work from Kieran and Nathan Bradshaw on the corner road yesterday, this afternoon and evening Ruth and John blitzed the Chinese wall and the path towards our Castle. “After” pictures from last night and before and after pictures from today. If you’re reading this and have a free hour any evening over the next 3 weeks please contact us via this page. We’d appreciate and really need the help. Thanks

Tomorrow night from 6:30 we plan to install our 2026 hanging baskets. Unfortunately due to a few conflicting events, we don’t have enough people to get the baskets in place. Can you give us 1 hour please. Meet at Castleconnell Parish Hall. Spread the word. Thanks.

An excellent opportunity to improve your swimming skills during June. And on your doorstep!

Hi folks, we are running a swim every Thursday for 4 weeks in O' Brien's Bridge at 12-13 and 17-18pm. It is in conjunction with Limerick Sports Partnership. Ide Mulcahy will be leading it and they also have lifeguards on site.

What a fruitful day we had. A short summary with lots of photos to record the efforts of 8 very productive people.

✅ - final washing of the upper section of the Castleconnell Parish Hall after John from the Ballyhoura Development CLG work’s team had tackled the majority of it several weeks ago.

✅ - painting the Hall porch and repainting a section of the wheelchair access ramp.

✅ - BIG tidy up of the pavements at Dalys Cross and on the road towards Oaklane.

✅ - Tidy up of our Welcome Stone at Dalys Cross.

✅ - Massive tidy up of the scrubs in the Village Garden, thanks to Margaret and Mike Freeney.
