Notice from Uisce Éireann to all Abbeyfeale Business Owners, Residents, and Commuters.
Works are due to begin shortly to replace old water pipes along Main Street out to the Killarney Road, and also on Colbert Terrace.
The works will take approx 3 months to complete and will be done at night.
7pm-7am Mon 22nd June to Fri 18th Sept.
The Contractor appointed by Irish Water is Ward & Burke Construction Ltd.

A new heritage plaque to honour Professor Michael J. O’Kelly will be unveiled on Sunday 15th March at 2.30pm at St. Ita's Community Hall. Abbeyfeale is tremendously proud of Professor Michael J O’Kelly and this celebration of one of our own is long overdue.

Professor O’Kelly (1915-1982) is best known for his excavation, conservation and restoration of the megalithic passage tomb and ancillary monuments at Newgrange. But that was only the pinnacle of this Abbeyfeale man’s remarkable achievements which encompassed over a dozen major excavations, greatly enriched the field of archaeological enquiry and exerted a lasting influence on the development of the discipline of archaeology in Ireland.
