Dean’s Journey as a CE Participant
At Our Lady of Lourdes Community Services, we are always proud to celebrate the achievements of our Community Employment (CE) participants, and Dean’s journey is a wonderful example of how the programme can open doors to new opportunities.
Dean has successfully moved to the role of head gardener and maintenance at the Strand Hotel, Limerick. Dean joined the CE Programme three years ago, eager to gain experience, build his confidence, and develop new skills. During his time with us, he embraced every opportunity to learn, demonstrating a strong work ethic, commitment, and a positive attitude.
Speaking about his new role, Dean said:
“Learning from people with more experience than I allowed me to gain new skills that I needed to further my career path here at the Strand Hotel .”
Dean’s success highlights the positive impact of the CE Programme—not only in developing practical skills but also in building confidence and creating pathways to sustainable employment.
When asked what advice he would give to someone considering the CE Programme, Dean said:
“Go for it and make sure you want it for the right reasons and be willing to learn.”
Everyone at Our Lady of Lourdes Community Services is incredibly proud of Dean and all that he has achieved. We congratulate him on this exciting milestone and wish him every success as he continues his career with the Strand Hotel.
Dean’s story reminds us that with the right support, dedication, and opportunity, positive change is possible. We look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the years ahead.
Well done Dean!
