The ZCS was located in The Sacred Heart Church, O'Connell Avenue
Since August 2022 we provide remote help. We are collecting & fundraising for the Ukrainian Refugees who decided to temporarily stay in Limerick until it's safe to go back home. At the beginning of March, we've successfully sent 44 tones of medical equipment to depth of Ukraine from Limerick, and on the 19th March, along with a grou
p of dedicated volunteers, we opened the Refugee Hub in Limerick, called Zero Cost Shop. The idea is similar to the well known charity shops, except the Clients don't need to pay. Our center provides variety of support for incoming Refugees:
1. Physical items such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, school kits, toys, prams, bed dressing etc.
2. Services:
a) assistance with schooling (we're actively working with principals of several schools in the city)
b) taxis (to and from other support centres such as Intreo, medical centres)
c) assistance with filling out forms (medical cards, schools, doctors)
d) helping with CVs and job search
e) providing translations on demand
f) directing to other legitimate and essential places providing help for Ukrainian Refugees
g) psychological support
Our Gofundme fundraiser is mainly directed (not limited) to parents, who struggle to get the essentials before they receive their Social Support (it takes up to 2 weeks at the moment). We're also working with Translit company, providing certified translations of certain documents. We're filling this gap and cover the costs of translations. Please note, we're working closely with Doras Lumni, and we're under Sacred Heart Church insurance, where we're based. Along with a team of Volunteers, we're hoping that you can support this worthy cause. The receipts can be provided upon request. https://gofund.me/9f92f85c
