We, at the Bluestack Centre are a voluntary Community Development Group. The Bluestack Centre is a Community Activity Centre and 28 bed self-catering hostel idyllically located at the foothills of the magnificent Bluestack Mountains in Drimarone, approximately 5 miles from Donegal Town. The centre is suitab

le for conferences, family functions, meetings, childrens parties and is an ideal base for exploring south Donegal including the Bluestack Mountains. The Bluestack Centre is in a tranquil setting, ideal for those looking for a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, especially hillwalkers as we are in the heart of the fabulous Bluestack Mountains and surrounded by unspoilt countryside just waiting to be explored, you may even encounter the wildlife such as Deer, Pheasants and Rabbits. The Bluestack Centre works in conjunction with Failte Ireland Walking Hub (more information can be found at this link: www.donegalwalkerswelcome.com ) and the Rural Development Officer who co-ordinates the Waymarked Way.

Wishing you the Best of Luck Annie from all at The Bluestack Centre.

We are delighted to introduce Annie Mc Groary, who will proudly represent The Gateway Lodge in the Donegal Rose of Tralee selection 2026.

Originally from Letterbarrow, Annie is a passionate Home Economics and Gaeilge teacher currently teaching in the very school she once attended in Donegal Town. A graduate of St Angela’s College, Annie is deeply committed to education, wellbeing, Irish culture, and creating a positive environment where young people can thrive.

Outside the classroom, Annie has a huge love for jiving, Irish country music, Gaelic football, and community life. Having played football at club, school, and county level, she now enjoys coaching young people and encouraging confidence, teamwork, and resilience through sport. Proud of her Donegal roots, Annie is passionate about promoting Irish culture, language, and tradition both at home and abroad.

Known for her warmth, positivity, and community spirit, Annie is a wonderful ambassador for both The Gateway Lodge and County Donegal.
