🌟Member Spotlight🌟

From joining Lucan Toastmasters back in 2009 to now representing the club at Area level, Philip’s journey reflects what consistent practice and the right environment can do 👏

Thoughtful, structured and authentic in his delivery, he’s a strong example of how Toastmasters builds real confidence and clarity over time.

His approach is simple but effective: focus on the message, trust the preparation, and connect with the audience 🎯
That mindset has already translated into both personal growth and professional impact.

Now, as he steps onto the next stage of competition, we’re fully behind him 🏆

Wishing Philip the very best of luck from everyone at Lucan Toastmasters — we’re proud to have you represent us 🙌

If you’re free this weekend, come along and support.

🌟 Member Spotlight: Linda Fagan

Meet Linda Fagan, one of the long-standing members of Lucan Toastmasters — so long in fact she says she stopped counting after 20 years!

Linda’s journey is a reminder that Toastmasters isn’t just about speaking — it’s about finding your voice, listening deeply, and growing alongside others.

One of Linda’s biggest early challenges was delivering her Icebreaker speech. Like many members, she found it terrifying — yet it became one of the most rewarding experiences of her journey.

Over the years, Linda has also taken on all leadership roles as part of the club committee including Vice President of PR (VPPR), and now serves as Club Secretary for 2025/26, continuing to support the club community.

Her biggest takeaway?
✨ “Toastmasters teaches you that communication isn’t just about finding your voice — it’s about truly hearing others.”

And her advice to anyone attending their first meeting:
👉 Enjoy the experience, the camaraderie, and take every opportunity that’s offered.

Lucan has been telling its own story since 1967.

For almost six decades, the Lucan Newsletter has documented the people, events, and moments that shape our community — from local celebrations and parish life to community milestones and personal achievements. It’s a publication built on local voices, volunteer effort, and community pride.

Publications like this quietly play an important role:
they connect neighbours, preserve local history, and give community groups a platform to share what they do.

A sincere thank you to the editorial team and contributors who continue to produce the Lucan Newsletter and keep this tradition alive — and for featuring Lucan Toastmasters in each edition.

Supporting local publications helps keep community stories visible and thriving.
