Riverforest is a mature housing estate in Confey, Leixlip, with over 570 houses. It is one of the most sought after developments in Leixlip, and is located close to the N4, Train, Bus, shopping centre, schools and Library.

Thank you to everyone who turned out today and brought delicious food to share at our family fun day.
We borrowed the plates and cups from Zero Waste Maynooth and we had a visit from the community section of An Garda Síochána Kildare.

Family fun day tomorrow 8 August 2026 at the Bowl. Please walk if you can.
We will supply the plates; bring a chair and bring some food to share.
Food can be anything as long as it's ready to eat.
In conjunction with Zero Waste Maynooth, we have plates, cups, jugs, cutlery and bowls.
Midday-ish until the last person goes home.

Things that would be really useful
Shade
Folding tables
Folding chairs
Outdoor play equipment

Bring a friend, bring yourself, bring your neighbour, meet a new neighbour.
Everyone welcome.

We will operate a zero waste, leave no trace policy.

Let's all enjoy the lovely weather and make some new friends.

Water gone in River Forest and surrounding areas, no updates on Uisce Éireann Irish Water yet but apparently they are aware. An update from Nuala Killeen indicates that it may be off until Sunday morning.
Check on vulnerable neighbours.

Have a favourite item of clothing that just needs a little TLC? Don't throw it away – learn how to repair it!

Join us at Leixlip Youth & Community Family Resource Centre for our Repair Café, where you'll learn practical clothing repair skills in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.

✨ What to bring:
👕 An item of clothing with a small repair needed, such as:
• A missing button
• A loose seam
• A small tear
• A worn hem

We'll provide:
🪡 Sewing machine
🧵 Needles, thread and repair materials
✂️ All the basic tools you'll need
🙌 Expert guidance every step of the way

No sewing experience is necessary! Rather than someone repairing your clothes for you, you'll be guided through the repair yourself, giving you the confidence and skills to mend your own clothes in the future.

💚 By the end of the session you'll:
✔️ Leave with a repaired garment
✔️ Learn valuable sewing and repair skills
✔️ Save money
✔️ Help reduce textile waste
✔️ Feel confident giving your clothes a longer life
