A tree harvesting workshop will take place at CECAS Myross House in Leap (P81Y192) on Saturday 21st February, 11am to 3pm, led by Conan Connolly from Síolta Chroí (Monaghan) as part of the More Trees Now European funded project, of which Síolta Chroí is the Irish partner.
Conan will show us how to identify and lift dormant tree saplings from places where they won’t get a chance to survive and plant them in places where they can thrive. You can find out more about the More Trees Now project at: https://moretreesnow.eco/.
We will meet at CECAS at 11am and then travel to a nearby woods to find tree saplings to harvest. After lunch we will plant the trees into a ‘Tree Hub’ area at Myross House before they are distributed later to be planted for ecosystem restoration locally.
