Tuosist Community Council meets monthly to plan local development. At the moment we are working on new signage for the area and improvements to the layby at the top of the Healy Pass. We are also working on Tidy Towns projects for 2026, to extend our biodiversity trail. If you would like to contact us about anything email [email protected] or message this page. Maybe you have an idea for something you would like to see in the area? We can help make that a reality.

Our biggest project at the moment is our genealogy project, documenting the families of Tuosist in the 1800s and 1900s.

Our next meetings are for:

Lauragh Upper & Lauragh Lower | Sunday June 14 | Lauragh Community Centre 2pm

Drombohilly Lower | Sunday July 26 | Lauragh Community Centre 2pm

Glenmore and Dromaclaurig | Thurs July 30 | Lauragh Community Centre 7pm
Please join us if you have connections to the area, and please bring along any older neighbours or family members.

💕 We all agree that Tuosist is beautiful, right? From Cuhig to Killaha, so many gorgeous spots. 💞

👉 Let's keep it that way.

We're getting together to pick litter next Sunday for 2 hrs, as part of the KWD County Cleanup and we'd love you to join us.

You can join us to clean up the Ardea and Drombohilly areas, or swing by to collect bags and supplies to clean up your own area or somewhere you've seen litter recently.

No experience needed — just some spare time and a smile 🌿

Calling all local Sullivans and O'Sullivans... why not join the clan in a few weeks time to get in to the history books?

Did you know, the name O'Sullivan - Ó Súilleabháin in Irish - traces its origin to Míl Espáine, King of the Milesians, through his son Heber, first absolute king of Ireland in 504 BC.

The name itself comes from súil (eye) and abháin (one), meaning descendant of the hawk-eyed. One of the great surnames of Ireland, our name is rooted in the lineage of ancient kings.

This June Bank Holiday weekend, the O'Sullivan / Sullivan clan is coming home to the Beara Peninsula - the ancient heartland of the O'Sullivan Beare - for a world record attempt and a weekend of family, history, and celebration. We'd love you to be part of it!
