Every week is Invasive Species week in Tuosist, thanks to rhododendron ponticum. It's eating into our farmland and gardens, climbing our mountains, clogging our rivers and choking out native species.
Huge thanks to our Rhododendron Project sub group at Tuosist Community Council, who work quietly in the background raising awareness, organising training and sharing the best ways to tackle this invasive species.
Want to help? Join our Facebook group, Community Rhododendron Mapping Ireland, or visit www.rhodo.tuosist.ie to learn about our mapping app. Next time you're out and about, grab your phone and map what you see, so we can all work together to stop the spread.

This is happening in the coming week:

If you would like to share any memories and stories you have of your connection to Kenmare Bay, you’re invited to a free workshop as part of my master’s dissertation on memory, place and attachments to coastal environments.

We’ll be making a shared ‘map’ that represents memories and experiences of Kenmare Bay while chatting about these topics. Please feel free to come along, it is open to everyone from the communities around Kenmare Bay, both the Iveragh and Beara peninsulas.

Wednesday 8th July 6pm in Eyeries (eircode will be provided)

Send a message, my email is [email protected]
