Over the past few days several team members completed the Swiftwater Rescue Technician course. Some of us were recertifying and some were progressing up from responder level. Once again we had amazing conditions for it 😎

On Sunday afternoon we were tasked to assist a male who had become cragfast while making his way along the cliff above St Kevin's bed in Glendalough. He was airlifted off by the coastguard 116 and dropped to the upper lake uninjured. Always try to stay within your abilities when exploring our mountains.

Another busy month saw us tasked 16 times, bringing us to 45 callouts so far this year.

Today at 12:58 ourselves and DWMRT were tasked to help a 13yr old boy who had injured his leg on the spinc above Glendalough. He was treated on scene before being stretchered down to a waiting ambulance. The incident involved 16 MR personnel and was stood down at 15:40

Yesterday afternoon at 13:51 we were tasked alongside DWMRT to assist a 16 year old female who had taken a fall in Glendalough, sustaining injuries to her leg and head.
Once reached by MR personnel she was treated at the scene and stretchered to R116 Coastguard helicopter for evacuation to a waiting ambulance down by the upper lake.
Incident was stood down at 17:03, thanks to all involved.
