As a mark of respect following the passing of Jason, the championship game against Doora-Barefield tomorrow evening has been postponed.

A guard of honour will be held in Jason’s memory this afternoon, commencing at Devitts cross and proceeding to Moy church.
We would ask all those wishing to attend to please be at Devitts Cross for 3pm & park in Moy football pitch.

Please be aware there will be a one way system from marrinans Cross up to the church.

Moy are gearing up for their 3rd round of the Championship this Sunday, 30th August, as they take on Doora Barefield.

Miltown/Moy First Responders with Paramedic support are providing a course on the 15th June at 7.30 in Miltown Malbay Community Centre. The aim is to show you what to do if someone collapses. You will learn how to assess them. You will learn how to do CPR, and how to use a Defibrillator. This course has been going for 6 months, and all who did it rate it very highly. Moy GAA are running a split the pot for the World Cup as one of our fundraisers this year.

The draw will go ahead before the opening game next Thursday 11th of June. Everyone entered will be given a team, they'll be good prizes for the winners. All details in the flyer below.

Please share , After the funeral mass for our beloved Canon Mullin Wednesday at 2pm with burial immediately afterwords in Miltown Malbay Church Graveyard , Everyone is welcome to attend refreshments of a hot & cold buffet in the community centre in Miltown Malbay . It would be wonderful to have people attend & join to celebrate his journey and find comfort in each others company .

Funeral Arrangements: Reposing in St. Joseph’s Church, Miltown Malbay on Tuesday 28th of April, 2026 from 4.00 pm with Office of the Dead at 7.00 pm. Funeral Mass in the Church at 2.00 pm on Wednesday 29th of April with burial afterwards in the Church grounds.

Canon Seamus Mullin, P.E. Críocha Callan Pastoral Area



Canon Seamus Mullin was born on 6th of August 1931 in Kilrush. Having completed his studies for the priesthood in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, he was ordained a priest on 17th of June 1956.



He completed the H.Dip in Education in UCG in 1957 and was appointed to the staff in St. Flannan’s College, Ennis and was appointed President of the College in 1974.



He was then appointed Adm in St. Joseph’s Church, Ennis in 1982 and in 1989 was appointed PP of Miltown Malbay where he remained until he died. He was appointed Canon of the Cathedral Chapter in 1993.



Canon Seamus was a gifted athlete and excelled at Gaelic Football and Soccer. He also had an accomplished singing voice and was an enthusiast of the Irish language and especially the origin of placenames in our native tongue!



He died on 24th of April, 2026
