We are delighted to share that CELT is celebrating 25 years as a registered charity providing training in regenerative cultures including traditional skills, sustainable living, nature conservation & protection. CELT is a registered charity providing education, training and awareness-raising activities in environmental issues, skills for sustainable living and nature conservation. Through skills t

raining events and exhibitions we promote traditional skills to keep them alive and relevant to our modern society…and as a way of encouraging community to engage with their heritage in an empowering sustainable way. Our popular Traditional skills weekend event 'Weekend in the Hills' is focussed on offering a wide range of traditional skills bringing together local and national experts in a creative supportive atmosphere that enables a great hands on experience for all participants…including Adventure Bushcraft courses for kids. We also provide biodiversity surveys, help to plan and install nature trails and offer educational guided woodland walks, with the aim of connecting local communities to their local natural environment via improved access and educational opportunity. In promoting practical everyday environmental living and ecological awareness educational activities we are able to offer support to local and national environmental campaigns and actively collaborate with others engaged in working in these areas. CELT also has a Native Tree Nursery specialising in certified native trees, shrubs plus fruit and nut varieties all suitable for agroforestry systems or forest-gardens and offer information and planting advice.

CELT are delighted to collaborate with a number of European Organisations who are co-creating a Civil society movement across Europe, to advance the recognition of the Rights of Nature as a transformative legal and democratic approach – one that strengthens nature protection, empowers citizens and reinforces the rule of law.

The Initiative is conceived as an open and growing European wide alliance with Civil society organisations that share the objectives and values, and expresses the shared strategic alignment and commitment of the undersigned organisations to advance the European Citizens' Initiative "Rights for Nature" as a common European civil society project. The Initiative is coordinated by Rechte der Natur e.V. (Germany) and is organised through a European partnership of national Rights of Nature movements and civil society organisations. - please visit their website for more info - https://rightsfornature.eu

Europe faces converging ecological and democratic challenges. Biodiversity loss, climate change and the degradation of ecosystems undermine environmental integrity, social cohesion and democratic legitimacy. At the same time, citizens across Europe are seeking more meaningful ways to shape the governance of their natural environment.

CELT are delighted to collaborate with a number of European Organisations who are cocreating a Civil society movement across Europe, who are advancing the recognition of the Rights of Nature as a transformative legal and democratic approach – one that strengthens nature protection, empowers citizens and reinforces the rule of law.

Building on landmark precedents such as Spain's Mar Menor lagoon and a growing body of national and international Rights of Nature law, this Initiative represents a historic opportunity to place ecosystems at the heart of European legislation. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Meade.

I remember as a child picking peas in my grandad’s garden. He had apple trees, he grew his own veg. I remember sitting on his lap drinking a mug of turnip juice, (I can’t imagine trying to get my kids to do that today!) most of the food was grown on his farm. He was without knowing it, growing, and providing healthy sustainable food for his family. Our food system has changed so much in a generation and our job has always been to turn the clock back and bring us back to the days when food tasted like food.

Our organic food and groceries are used to make lunches and dinners, fill larders and hopefully bring health and happiness to 1000’s of homes every week. Your choice to be part of our tribe, not only means that you are making the best choice for your health, you are also choosing to protect our planet and the environment; the absence of chemicals in our food mean a healthier planet and increased biodiversity on farms.

Our parents and grandparents chose well, they ate seasonally and locally, they ate less meat. Who doesn’t remember cabbage and turnip and the endless ways to cook potatoes! Maybe what we eat deserves a little more consideration (and you clearly think so)? Our food choices matter so much more than we will ever know.

So as the saying goes, choose wisely! We have more power than we realise.

As always, thank you for your support

Kenneth
