Many thanks to our sponsor Per | Se for our delicious coffee this morning. It’s a great opportunity for us to relax after our mornings work and chat about future projects.

We were down at the back of St. Colmcilles SNS clearing the paths and steps for the kids to skip back to school next week. It was great to hear from people passing by how much they appreciate getting their path back. Come help us make these small improvements to our area. We meet up every Saturday morning and would love you to be part of these changes.

Many thanks to our sponsor SuperValu Knocklyon for providing our well earned water break.

Off we went this morning with a broken brush and a bag of old newspapers to participate in Fettercairn's Repair cafe and clothes and plant swap. There was so much stuff going on I dont know where to start. They had repair cafes for textiles, furniture, bicycles and electronics and all FREE of charge. If you needed your jeans taken up this was the place to be. If you had a broken brush they fixed it. If you had a broken hedgeclippers they sorted it out. These are very gifted people with skills we seem to be losing. Each and every repair was celebrated by ringing a bell.

With bells ringing in our ears we demonstrated how to make paper pots and how to plant potatoes for the Christmas dinner. There was a talk and demonstration on seed sowing courtesy of Friarstown Allotments and a plant swap with lots of the plants being provided by members of Ballyroan Gardening Group, Oldcourt Allotments and Friarstown Allotments.

Our thanks to SDCC for organising this event promoting sustainability and to for hosting us all. It was great to see so many groups collaborating.

P.S. We got to see Fettercairn's Geo Dome - fabulous
