One week ago today, we opened the gates! πŸ’š

We are still buzzing from the incredible energy of Inside the Gate 2026! 20 amazing families across Ireland opened their farms to share their passion, knowledge, and dedication to nature with all of us.

A massive, personal thank you to the brilliant hosts who made this magical day possible:
Tony Grogan, Ailbhe Gerrard, Madeline McKeever, Kim & Mireille McCall, Sean O' Farrell, Colm Gavin, Mimi & Owen Crawford, Willie Mulhall, Norman Dunne, Gerry Fitzsimons, Nicholas Redmond, Aoife Reilly, Rod & Julie Calder-Potts, Andrew Chilton, Gypsy Gifford, Tom & Michael Keane, Tommy Earley, Fergal Smith, Tom Reidy, and Alan & Cheryl Poole!

And, of course, thank you to everyone who visited, asked questions, and explored the fields with us. Your support bridges the gap between our communities and the land.

We are already counting down the days and looking forward to seeing you all again next year! πŸŽ‰

Eating is an agricultural act.” β€” Wendell Berry (1934–2026)

This week, the world lost a true visionary, author, and champion of agrarian life. The entire Farming for Nature family wishes to honor and reflect on his incredible legacy. Wendell Berry spent his 92 years celebrating the profound connection between human hands, the weather, the earth, and the animals.

He constantly reminded us that a sustainable future relies on honoring the real worth of the land and the generational knowledge of our farmers. In his own beautiful words: "I enter an order that does not exist outside, in the human spaces. I feel my life take its place among the lives – the trees, the annual plants, the animals and birds... that go and have gone to make the life of the earth."

Thank you, Wendell, for leaving behind a philosophy that continues to guide our mission every single day. Rest in peace.

πŸ‚ Our Autumn Farm Walk Series is coming! 🌱 This autumn, join us on farms across Ireland to meet farmers who are putting nature-friendly farming into practice. Walk the land, learn about their farming system and see how they’re managing soil, biodiversity, water quality and more. It’s a chance to ask questions, share ideas and take away practical inspiration for your own farm/land.

The future of our land is in good hands! πŸ‘¦πŸ‘§πŸŒΎ

One of the most beautiful parts of Inside the Gate 2026 today is seeing so many kids out on the fields. From digging up soil samples to meeting the animals, the next generation is fully connecting with real farming and nature.

Children are the future. Teaching them firsthand where their food comes from and showing them how food production and biodiversity go hand in hand changes everything.πŸ’š

A massive thank you to all the families who brought their little helpers today to explore, learn, and step inside the gates with us!
