Kinvara Community Alert

Kinvara Community Alert The Community Alert programme is a community-based crime prevention, care and safety programme for rural communities.

The Kinvara Community Alert Group was formed in 2008 with a committee of 3 local people and apprx 3 area representatives supporting a population of approx 1,100 people in a geographical area of a two mile radius of Kinvara Garda District. To date the group is still active looking after a larger population of approx 1,800 people following the years of increased construction. The Community Alert Gro

up is a local voluntary organisation which is set up in the village of Kinvara and is broadly representative of this area. The group meets at least four times a year and also holds an Annual General Meeting at which officers are elected. The main purpose for which this Community Alert group is established are:
• to provide a framework through which all individuals in the village of Kinvara can work
• to be alert to individuals or vehicles acting in a suspicious manner and to report these activities to the Gardai;
• to encourage neighbourliness and civic responsibility in all sectors of the community
• to represent the views of their community on issues of community safety to the Gardai, the Health Board, Local Authority etc. Membership of this Community Alert Group is open to all the residents of the Kinvara area. The Community Alert Group conducts all its business in a balanced and impartial way. In particular it operates in a non-political and interdenominational way and acts in the best interests of all the residents of the local community, particularly the more vulnerable members. One of the priorities of the Group is to get a TEXT ALERT SERVICE up and running in the Kinvara area as quickly as possible. This service is in other areas and nearby parishes and has proven to be of great benefit. For further details please contact Kinvara Community Alert Group at [email protected] or on Facebook at Kinvara Community Alert
Achievements to date include
• Installation of social monitored alarms
• Information meetings in relation to security within the home and the community.
• Fund raising

Hi Everyone,

It’s hard to believe, but the Fleadh na gCuach is now just two weeks away!

We’re really looking forward to welcoming the community back for another fantastic weekend of traditional music, workshops, and family-friendly events. This year’s programme is packed with something for all ages, and we’re excited to see the village come alive once again.

As always, the festival relies on the generosity and support of volunteers to help everything run smoothly. If you can spare even an hour or two over the weekend, it would make a huge difference. Whether it’s helping with set-up, stewarding events, or simply being an extra pair of hands, every bit of help is genuinely appreciated.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please send us an email at [email protected] or a text message to 087 670 0448, and we’ll be in touch.

Thanks so much in advance for your support—we couldn’t do it without you.

Hup!!!

Best wishes,

The Cuckoo Committee
